Follow us through your interest in international relations.

One of the professors who taught us in college earned a master’s degree in international relations. She was the one who pushed me to study the same for my postgraduate degree.

What did you study before?

I am a fresh graduate and recently completed a Bachelor’s course in Political Science.

Tell us more about the Jharkhand Government Scholarship Program and what made you apply.

The Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Scholarship is awarded to selected tribal students who have roots in Jharkhand. This scholarship is only awarded to students to study in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. I wanted to apply because coming from a tribal community to study at a reputable university is something to admire.

How was your application process?

To apply for the scholarship, there were three things to keep in mind: belonging to any of the tribes in Jharkhand, having a percentage higher than 45% in a bachelor’s degree, and an annual income of not more than 11,700 pounds. .

For single admission, the letter of recommendation is very important as it varies from place to place. Some may order one or two and some, none. Personal statement and English language requirements are also essential.

What does your scholarship cover and how does it help you?

The scholarship covers all finances with tuition fees paid directly to the university. It also covers things like the annual maintenance allowance for domestic travel and includes the trip from home to the nearest airport to your designated organization.

Does your scholarship sponsor any research events or opportunities?

Yes, the scholarship also sponsors research but only in the field mentioned in the notification.

What is the hardest and easiest part of the scholarship and uni application?

I can’t say that the process went smoothly because everything took some time. For admission and scholarship, writing a statement of purpose was the hardest thing for me because it was very time consuming.

It took me three months to come up with a complete personal statement. I wouldn’t say it was perfect but it’s still better than the first draft that ended up in the trash.

How did you overcome these challenges?

I’ve done a lot of research on how to write a statement of purpose. This led me to read all the blogs and YouTube videos that gave information on how to write a personal statement.

What is your advice for future students from Jharkhand who want to apply for the scholarship you won?

Stay tuned for when the app opens and get ready!
