Works by young artists on display at Margate School

More than 600 paintings by pupils and teachers from 36 Tanit schools and colleges are on display at Margate School.

The annual Thanet Schools Young Artists Festival organized and supported by the Margate Rotary Club can be seen at the venue on Main Street until November 7.


Every year young people are encouraged to participate in the Young Rotary Artist Competition. This year’s categories and topics were:

KEYSTAGE 1 “Animals, insects and small animals”


Basic Stage 2 – “germs, bacteria, viruses, and cells”

KEYSTAGE 3 “Sports or Comedy Heroes – Pop Art Style”

KEYSTAGE 4 “Portrait, Soul and Selfie Reflections”

Judging was conducted at Margate School’s Rotary Festival of Thanett Schools Artist Festival by Willow Winston, Ruth Gildard and Annabelle Lusa.

The award presentation will be at noon on Saturday, November 6th.
