Omaha – Paul Maas and his family have established a college scholarship program for the hourly children and dependents of Scholar employees. Mr. Maas is the CEO of Scholar.

As part of the Paul and Julie Maas Scholarship Program, eligible recipients may receive a scholarship of up to $5,000 to help fund tuition, books, and certain other expenses incurred at an accredited four-year university or accredited two-year institutions of higher learning.

“Every day, Scholar employees come to work committed to solving problems big and small for our customers and our company,” said Mr. Maas. “My wife Julie and I want to express our gratitude for this dedication by providing this scholarship opportunity. A higher education can open doors to what is possible for scholar families and pave the way for lifelong learning.”

Scholar said the scholarship selection will be based on financial need, leadership in academics and society, and average grades, with a preference for those with a demonstrated history of empathy for others and achieving great things in their communities.
