One Stop launched a scholarship program designed to provide opportunities for young people from their communities and support social mobility.
The program will provide four young adults, from low-income families – studying an undergraduate degree in online, technology or sustainability – with support, guidance, and financial assistance throughout their college life.
The One Stop scholarship program includes a £15,000 scholarship, two paid internships during their summer university holidays in the areas of internet, technology or sustainability, mentorship support will be provided by one of the One Stop Leadership team throughout the student’s tenure and the opportunity to work for a One Stop alumni role .
Students applying for admission to the University in 2022, who are from a low-income family, are invited to apply from Monday 1 November 2021 with a closing date of Monday 31 January 2022. More information can be found here www.onestop.co.uk/scholarships/
One Stop Head of Sustainability and Social Responsibility Liz Fox said: “This is a really exciting offer for us here at One Stop and for our current and future students in the program. The program provides opportunities not only for us as a company but also for young people looking to advance their careers in an online environment. Or technology or sustainability, all with a leading retailer.
“We are looking for candidates to join us directly from the local communities where our stores are. We will help them provide them with a number of unique benefits for their career paths, which are not available through any other channel.
“For us, coordinating social mobility in the scholarship program has been key, and working with Groundwork has enabled us to develop and operate the program. We are thrilled to welcome our first students to the One Stop team and open the application process for our next candidates next year.”
