NECO June/July Results Statistics: 73.89% Had 5 Credits

NECO SSCE result statistics:  73.89 per cent of candidates got more than five credits, including Mathematics and English Language.

The National Examination Council (NECO), has released the results of the 2020 June/July Senior School Certificate Examination with a total of  73.89 per cent of the 1,209,992 that sat for the examination, scoring five credits and above, including in English and Mathematics.

The Registrar, Godswill Obioma, while announcing the results at the Council’s National Headquarters in Minna, the Niger State capital, said the performance represented 2.3 per cent improvement in candidates’ performance compared with the 2019 results.

Obioma said 1,221,447 males and 665,830 females registered for the 2020 June/July SSCE examination, while 1,209,992 sat for the exam.

Twelve schools were involved in examination malpractice. Four of the schools are Adamawa state, two from Kaduna state, Two from Katsina state, two from Niger state, one from Taraba State and one from FCT.  Theses affected schools have been suspended from conducting NECO exam for the next two year for there involvement in Mass cheating/whole school cases.

Also, twenty-four (24) Supervisors have been blacklisted for various offences ranging from poor supervision, Aiding and Abetting, Connivance with non-candidates to write the answer on the chalkboard and so on.

He noted that the Council has made special arrangements for those candidates who missed some papers due to the #EndSARS protests in some states.

The affected candidates will now sit for those papers missed during the forthcoming 2020 SSCE (External) scheduled from Monday 1st February 2021 to Wednesday 3rd March 2021.
