Murchie Awarded Heisman High School Scholarship

New York, New York. (NewsDakota.com) — Jamestown freshman Hannah Murchie has been selected to receive the Jamestown High School Scholarship for the Heisman High School Scholarship.

Murchie helped lead the Blue Jays to the state soccer championship last spring and is a member of the Sophistikix Dance Team. Murchie will receive a $1,000 undergraduate scholarship as a winner from Jamestown High School.

The Heisman Memorial Trophy is awarded annually to the nation’s most outstanding college football player. The Acceptance Insurance Heisman High School Scholarship expands Heisman prestige to our nation’s most respected high school seniors by honoring and rewarding outstanding athletic scholars who recognize that the most important victories happen not only on the field, but in their schools and communities. These outstanding young leaders are role models and make a game-changing difference every day, paving the way to greatness for everyone around them.

To apply, students must have graduated with the class of 2022, have a weighted high school cumulative grade point average of B (3.0) or better, and participate in at least one of the sports recognized by the International Olympic Committee, the Paralympic Games and/or National Federation of Public High Schools Association and be a leader in their school and community.

Over the past 27 years, the program has honored more than 600,000 high school seniors in the country and has provided hundreds of thousands of dollars in college scholarships to students and more than $1 million for high school academic and athletic programs across the country.

Bottineau Junior-Senior High School’s Nathaniel Olson was named the winner for North Dakota State on Tuesday.
