Google has finally decided to change the look of the Play Store website version after keeping the same old design for years now. The redesigned Google Play Store has now been spotted, offering a clean look, which is in line with how the Play Store app has come to be. Here’s your first look.
Google Play Store website gets a facelift
According to a report by Android Police, the redesigned Google Play Store website has started appearing in a few regions, namely Korea and Taiwan. We tried to check if India got it but no luck.
The new website uses more space left by the old website, so the content and app icons appear larger. Instead of looking gray, the website is now white. The old theme sidebar (consisting of several options for users) is now gone. This also contributes to the extended content. But don’t worry, you will still be able to access these options.
The options (your library, purchases, subscriptions, payment methods, order history, rewards, settings, and more) are now located under the menu that appears when you click your profile picture in the upper right corner. The thing that has not changed is that the Google Play Store logo is still present in the upper left corner.
As for the app menus, they now appear in a horizontal circle, unlike the massive menu that appeared earlier. Searching for apps and games is also made easy as the site will now display automatic recommendations, like the Google Play Store app. Under the Apps and Games sections, you will be able to choose devices as well. Options include phone, tablet, TV, Chromebook, Wear OS, and car apps.
The individual application pages have also changed. There is a slider for viewing screenshots and media galleries, some apps get a huge title and icon, and developer contacts and app suggestions get a sidebar on the right side. Game titles also get trailers that play automatically in full screen.
You should know that the entire redesign is still a work in progress and it remains to be seen when it reaches everyone. We will keep you posted on this, so stay tuned. Also, don’t forget to tell us your thoughts on the new design in the comments below.
