Covid rise in Herefordshire as schools go back


Corona virus continues to spread in Herefordshire as schools return, with the latest statistics recording more than 900 new positive tests over the past week.


The latest numbers show that between October 25 and October 31, 913 cases were confirmed in the county — an increase of 3.2 percent over the previous seven days.

Between October 18 and October 24, 21 patients were hospitalized with coronavirus – a 40 percent increase compared to the previous week.

As of October 30, there were 148,667 people in Herefordshire who were given the first dose of the vaccine, and 139,366 also received their second dose.

Although there were no deaths within the 28 days of testing positive for the coronavirus reported on October 31, between October 25 and October 31, there were three deaths within 28 days – compared to one in the previous seven days.

Morrisons, Leominster, 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
